I was doing post-op and lymphatic drainage service with concentration on a moderate size fibrosis to the upper back axillary area.
I used my fingers to massage the affected area in a circular motion. This technique is called effleurage and it helps to break up the fibrosis and promote drainage of the lymph fluid.
The client was able to tolerate the treatment well.
After a few minutes, the fibrosis began to soften and I was able to work deeper into the tissue.
By the end of the session, the fibrosis had significantly reduced in size and the patient felt much better.
